new york state golf association hall of fame
The New York State Golf Association Hall of Fame was established in 2012 by the NYSGA Executive Committee with the mission of identifying and honoring those individuals who have contributed to the game of golf and have a connection to New York State.
The idea for honoring those who have made significant contributions to the game was first discussed by the NYSGA Executive Committee in 2011. This led to the formation of the NYSGA Hall of Fame Committee, a group composed of individuals who live throughout New York with an understanding of golf and its rich history in the Empire State. This group oversaw the induction of the first class in 2012 at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester.
Membership is based on a variety of criteria, but an unyielding passion and love for the game unites them all. Past inductees include golfers of great skill, both amateur and professional, volunteers devoted in support of the game, and others who have left a tremendous impact on, or have made significant contributions to the game.
The NYSGA Hall of Fame committee is undergoing a revamping to include regional members throughout the state. In the interim, the committee comprised of the NYSGA Executive Committee, led by Chairman Joseph Enright and Historian John Blain. The New York State Golf Association elected two individuals to induct into the New York State Golf Association Hall of Fame - Class of 2017.
