History

The Links at Erie Village opened their inaugural season in 1997. Construction and design began in 1986 just after the ground work began for the Erie Village town homes. The design staff had a vision of creating a top notch golf course for the entire central New York region. Since then the course had been sold to co-owners Frederick and Karin Kraus in 2007 who had already owned the catering portion of the building/company. In 1980 Frederick and Karin began their first ever business endeavor together called Yankel & Company Catering. This company’s goal was to serve their clients catering needs whether celebrating weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, graduations, and anniversaries. In 1994, Frederick returned to the Syracuse area along with his wife Karin and their family to carry on the traditions and standards of Yankel & Company Catering.  The goal of the Kraus family is to provide the most memorable setting for intimate gatherings and extravagant bashes alike. After their move in 1994, the Kraus family has since completely renovated their Ballroom which accommodates up to 425 guests with a full bar, 16’x24’ dance floor and turning it into one of the premier locations Syracuse has to offer for any type of special occasion. In 2007 they acquired the rights to the golfing facility and property, turning the course into one of the most premier golfing experiences in all of Central New York. Today the golf course alone staffs over 30 employees, has a very strong membership base, and is considered one of the best public golf course in the greater Syracuse area.
