2017 N.Y.S. Mixed Team & Senior Mixed Team Championships

Entries are open to teams consisting of one male and female amateur golfer. Both entrants must be members of the NYSGA and have an active Handicap Index issued by a golf club which is licensed to use the USGA Handicap System. A member of the NYSGA is defined as a dues paying member of a NYSGA Member Club, which includes NYSGA eClubs. Partners are not required to be related, married, or from the same club.
Note: To compete in the N.Y.S. Senior Amateur Mixed Team Championship, the female and male golfer must be at least 50 and 55 years old, respectively, as of August 21, 2017.
ENTRIES: FORM, FEE, CLOSING DATE
All teams must submit their entry prior to the tournament's entry deadline TBD). One member of the team must file the entry online through the NYSGA website. Any entries submitted via mail, email or fax will not be accepted. The player to register the team will be prompted during the registration process to select their partner via a 'search by last name' option. If the partner is not available, then the partner does not have an account in the database. Complete the registration process without selecting your partner and you will receive a confirmation email with additional information on how to add your partner to your entry.
The entry fee of $200 must be paid by the partner who registers when the entry is submitted. This fee will be refunded regardless of reason if the NYSGA is notified (315-471-6979 or via email at email@example.com) before the close of entries. After the close of entries, the fee will be refunded in the event of injury or illness, if requested 24 hours prior to the start of the championship. A $15 service fee will be deducted from all refunds.
This championship will be conducted over 18 holes of modified Chapman stroke play, gross and net, as follows: Two players play as partners, each partner plays from the teeing ground and plays their partner's ball for the second shot. After the second shot, the partners select the ball with which the wish to score and play that ball alternately to complete the hole. On par three holes, the choice of which ball to play alternately must be made after the tee shots.
The team in each division (gross and net) with the lowest score after 18 holes will be the winners. A tie for either championship will be played off immediately, hole-by-hole, until a champion is determined (gross only). Ties for all other places will be broken using the USGA recommended method of matching scorecards.
The field will be limited to the first 60 teams to register (30 teams for both the N.Y.S. Mixed Team Championship and Senior Mixed Team Championship). Entries received after the field limit has been reached will be placed on a wait list. Applicants will be ranked on the wait list in the order their application was received by the NYSGA. Any spots in the field that become available will be filled in accordance with the ranked wait list.
