60th NYS Women's Senior &

Super Senior Amateur Championship

Shorewood CC • Dunkirk, NY • August 21-22, 2012

 

Eligibility

To be eligible to compete in this Championship, an entrant must:

1. Be a minimum of 50 years old on August 21, 2012,
2. Conform to the USGA's "Rules of Amateur Status",
3. Be a member in good standing at a NYSGA Member Club or an active NYSGA Associate Member with her primary residence in New York state, and,
4. Have an up-to-date Handicap Index from a golf club licensed to use the USGA Handicapping System.

The field is limited to 120 players. If more than 120 players apply, the 120 players with the lowest Handicap Indexes as of the entry close date will be eligible. Any player not eligible due to the field being oversubscribed will be refunded the full entry fee.

Super Senior Amateur Championship

In addition to meeting the requirements stated above, players will be eligible to compete in the Super Senior Amateur Championship if they are 65 years of age or older on August 21. 2012. Entrants in the Super Senior Division compete in the Senior and Super Senior Divisions concurrently, and thus may win both Championships.

Age Divisions

Players will also be competing in the following Age Divisions for prizes (gross and net):

50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 +

Format

The format of this Championship is 36 holes of stroke play. The player with the lowest 36 hole score will be the Champion. If a tie exists at the end of 36 holes, a sudden-death playoff will be used to determine the Champion.

Schedule of Events
The tentative schedule of events has been set as follows:

Monday, August 20
	9:00 am - 3:00 pm		Player Registration - Shorewood CC
	9:30 am - 1:30 pm		Practice Round (players only). Call pro shop to schedule tee time.
	5:30 pm - 7:30 pm		Contestant Dinner. Guest tickets for dinner are available. Price TBD.
Tuesday, August 21
	8:00 am - 10:00 am		Round 1 - 18 Holes. Play will begin off the 1st  and 10th tees.
Wednesday, August 22
	8:00 am - 10:00 am		Round 2 - 18 Holes. Play will begin off the 1st and 10th tees.
	A play-off, if necessary, will immediately following conclusion of play.
	2:45 pm - 3:00 pm		Awards ceremony to immediately follow the conclusion of play.

In order to receive the group rates, advise the hotel that you are a New York State Golf Association participant. Reservations must be made directly with the hotel and will require a credit card to guarantee your reservation. If you must cancel your reservation please do so at least 24 hours prior to your check in date to avoid being charged for the room.
