2nd NYS Amateur & Senior Amateur Four-Ball Championship

Ravenwood Golf Club • Victor, NY • May 21-22, 2012

Eligibility                                                                                               

To be eligible to compete in this Championship, an entrant must:

1. Conform to the USGA's "Rules of Amateur Status",
2. Be a member in good standing at a NYSGA Member Club or be an active NYSGA Associate Member with their primary residence in New York state, and,
3. Have an up-to-date Handicap Index from a golf club licensed to use the USGA Handicapping System.
   
   

Senior Four-Ball Championship                                                                    

In addition to meeting the requirements stated above, players registering to compete in the Senior Four-Ball Championship must be 55 years of age as of May 21, 2012. The Senior Division will be limited to the 20 teams with the lowest combined Handicap Index as of the entry close date.

 

Entrants in the Senior Division may not compete in the Amateur and Senior Amateur Divisions concurrently, and thus will be required to specify the Division they wish to compete in during registration.

Format                                                                                                  

The format of the 2012 NYS Four-Ball Amateur Championship is 36 holes of four-ball stroke play.

 

The USGA defines the four-ball stroke play as, "A competition in which two competitors play as partners, each playing his own ball. The lower score of the partners is the score for the hole. If one partner fails to complete the play of a hole, there is no penalty.".

 

The team with the lowest 36 hole score will be the Champion. If a tie exists at the end of 36 holes, a sudden-death playoff will be used to determine the Champion.

Monday, May 21
	11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.		Player Registration - Ravenwood GC
	12:35 p.m. - 12:45 p.m.		Announcements
	1:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.		Round 1 - 18 Holes. Play will begin as a 1:00 p.m. shotgun.
	6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.		Contestant Dinner. Guest tickets for dinner will be available at a price TBD
Tuesday, May 22
	7:30 a.m. - 7:45 a.m.		Announcements
	8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.		Round 2 - 18 Holes. Play will begin as a 8:00 a.m. shotgun.
	A play-off, if necessary, will immediately follow the conclusion of play.
	1:00 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.		Prize presentation ceremony to immediately follow the conclusion of play.

In order to receive the group rates, advise the hotel that you are a New York State Golf Association participant. Reservations must be made directly with the hotel and will require a credit card to guarantee your reservation. If you must cancel your reservation please do so at least 24 hours prior to your check in date to avoid being charged for the room.
