Kids On Course
Kids On Course creates affordable access to golf for deserving youth by establishing $1-$5 greens and range fees at local golf facilities during off-peak hours. These junior golfers, ages 10-17, complete an NYSGA administered online certification program about the Rules of Golf, Etiquette and Life Skills and then receive a membership card & bag tag to present to participating golf clubs.
Testimonials:
From a 'Kids On Course' participant:
I wish to thank the NYSGA Foundation for the Kids On Course program and everything it did for me this past season. Without the Kids On Course program I would not have had the opportunity to practice and play golf regularly. My skills and game improved greatly, especially my putting. I entered the Dutchess County Women's Amateur, where I placed 2nd and had my best round ever, an even par 72, and my first eagle. Even if I don't reach my goals, Kids on Course has changed my life.
The opportunities availed to me has enabled me to look forward to playing collegiate golf in two years. I hope to find a career in the golf industry where someday I can help other kids learn to love golf as I do.
Again thank you,
~ June, Age 16
From a USGA Past President:
"To help make the game more accessible and affordable, we must find a way to make playing the golf course less of a financial burden. We are pleased that there are other organizations that view affordable course access as a key to the future inclusiveness of the game." ~ Trey Holland, USGA Past President |
