NYSGA Tournament Program
Since its inception in 1923, the New York State Golf Association has hosted numerous Amateur Golf Championships throughout our state. These Championships are regularly moved around the state so everyone will have the opportunity to compete at a site near where they live on a rotating basis.
The Men's Amateur Championship, Men's Mid-Amateur Championship, and Junior & Boys Championship are so popular that they require us to have sectional Qualifiers around the State. These Sections are Albany, Binghamton, Buffalo, Finger-Lakes, Long Island, Mid-Hudson, North Country, Rochester, Syracuse, Utica/Rome and Watertown.
In 2007, the NYSGA began running a series of "net" events, called the State Day Series, to bring the opportunity to compete to golfers of all skill levels. This series has been expanded to 15 events in 2010 and is expected to draw over 1,200 golfers to participate.
