Dutchess Golf Club


Entry is open to female amateur golfers who:

  1. Membership: New York residents must be a member of a NYSGA member club or belong to the NYSGA as an Associate Member. Non-residents of New York must be a member of a Type 1 NYSGA member club.

  2. Handicap: Have an up-to-date Handicap Index®, issued by a golf club licensed to use the USGA Handicap System™ (no limit specified).

  3. Age: There are no age requirements to compete in the Women's Amateur Championship. To compete in the Women's Mid-Amateur Championship, a separate championship conducted concurrently with the Women's Amateur, entrants must have reached their 25th birthday by midnight on July 15, 2014.
Divisions and Flights

N.Y.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Championship

All players who have reached their 25th birthday by midnight on July 15, 2014 will be eligible to compete for the 6th N.Y.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Championship. This championship is conducted concurrently with the N.Y.S. Women's Amateur Championship.

Format, Field Size and Schedule


This championship will be conducted over 54 holes of individual stroke play. There is a cut after 36 holes to the low 40 players and ties.

156 players with the lowest handicap index as of the entry deadline will comprise the championship field.


The tentative schedule events has been set as follows:

Monday, July 14 // Registration and Practice Round

Tuesday, July 15 // Round 1, 18 Holes

Wednesday, July 16 // Round 2, 18 Holes

Thursday, July 17 // Round 3, 18 Holes


In the event of a tie for either championship, the winner will be determined immediately by a hole-by-hole playoff.

Partner Hotels

The NYSGA has partnered with the Holiday Inn Express - Poughkeepsie ($119 for two double beds and $129 for a king size bed - CODE NYG) and the Hampton Inn & Suites - Poughkeepsie ($109 single, $114 double). If you make reservations by phone, identify yourself as an NYSGA participant.


The NYSGA requests that all contestants register, either in person or by phone, by 3:00pm on Monday, July 14. Registration will take place in the Dutchess Golf Club foyer from 8:30am until 3:00pm. Contestants unable to register in person are asked to call the NYSGA office at (315) 471-6979 to register.

Practice Rounds

A complimentary practice round is available for all registered contestants on Monday, July 14. In order to make a tee time, which start at 9:00am, please call the Dutchess Golf Club pro shop at (845) 452-5403. Practice rounds on alternate dates are available at the discretion of the pro shop at a fee of $55 during the week and $75 on the weekend.

Golf Carts

The use of golf carts is approved for this championship. The fee per player cost for each round is $20. There is a strict two cart limit per group. If only two contestants are riding in a group, they may be required by the host club to share a single golf cart. A caddie may ride in a golf cart of the contestant walks.


The use of a caddie is approved for this championship.

Driving Range

The use of the driving range by contestants at Dutchess Golf Club will be provided compliments of the NYSGA. The driving range is limited to 200 yards. A full driving range is available at Casperkill Golf Club (2320 S Rd, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601) and it is located a short five minute drive south of Dutchess GC on Route 9.

Pairings and Tee Times

The first round will begin off the 1st and 10th tee starting at 8:00am. Pairings and tee times will be posted on the NYSGA website and emailed to all registered contestants at 5:00pm on Tuesday, July 8.  Second round pairings will be based off first round scores with ties broken by matching scorecards. After the second round, there will be a cut to the low 40 players and ties.

Course Yardage

The championship tees will play to an approximate yardage of 5,945 and a par of 71 at Dutchess GC. A score card indicating the intended yardages will be provided at registration and will also be posted on this website when available. During the practice rounds NYSGA tees will be placed on the golf course at these approximate yardages.

Lunches Provided by the NYSGA

The NYSGA will provide lunches for all registered contestants during each competitive round (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) at Dutchess. Lunches will be available beginning at 11:30am and will close at approximately 2:30pm. Caddies and guests are welcome to eat lunch with contestants but will be required to pay the meal at the rate of $15 per person.

There will be complimentary snacks (granola/fruit bars) and water available for contestants on the 1st and 10th tees during competitive rounds.

Food Service at Dutchess

The restaurant at Dutchess GC will not be open on Monday, July 14. Please plan accordingly.
