For Rochester golfers who want an official Handicap Index but do not belong to a golf club, the New York State Golf Association is offering one possible solution.
The NYSGA is now offering “eClub Rochester,” which allows area golfers to post scores online and receive emailed Handicap Index revisions every two weeks during the golf season. This “non-real estate” golf club is licensed by the New York State Golf Association, which means the Handicap Index will be accepted wherever a golfer travels to play.
For $35 per year, the site offers not only handicapping software but also statistic tracking features. For example, enter information from a round of golf - such as number of putts or driving distance - and the site creates easy-to-analyze charts and graphs.
The yearly fee also includes membership in the New York State Golf Association, which means that eClub Rochester members will be eligible to compete in NYSGA Championships. eClub members also get discounted entry fees to NYSGA State Day Tournaments – casual net-handicap events with players being flighted based upon Course Handicap. One such tournament will be held at Ravenwood Golf Club in Victor on Saturday, May 16th.
