NYSGA Foundation
The NYSGA Foundation is a 501c(3) Corporation dedicated to preserving the game of golf in New York State.
Our Foundation believes that golf teaches integrity, character and responsibility in a way that few other activities can match. With affordable access to golf, the game will continue to grow, but more importantly, youth will have the opportunity to experience the life skills that the game teaches on a regular basis.
Mission Statement:
Promoting the game of golf in New York State through activities that positively impact youth and families, instill core values, provide accessibility to golf facilities and develop leaders of golf's future.
Initiatives:
Key Components:
Youth and families - Golf is a great game for kids and a wonderful way to spend time together as a family their entire lives.
Values - Golf embodies strong values like sportsmanship, integrity and respect. The
National School Program teaches these values while introducing golf to kids during elementary school gym classes.
Accessibility - Youth and new golfer participation through affordable programs.
Leaders - Scholarships are awarded to New York State students studying professional golf management and turf grass management. These graduates will become the golf instructors and course superintendents at golf courses for the next generation.
Funding:
The NYSGA Foundation is funded by 100% of net proceeds from the State Days events, 80% of Associate Membership revenue and donations. Approximately 80% of donation amounts go directly toward Foundation programs.
